I've been buying CDs from this store since 2016. Their collection is impressive, one of the best in the gallery. I've already made some good purchases for my collection. Since I've read that the service at this store is always praised, I'll leave my opinion. I've received excellent service in the past, but on other occasions, it's left a bit to be desired. In fact, sometimes they lack a bit of tact (good manners) with the customer. Either way, I won't stop coming to the store, as the collection is incredible and the prices are reasonable!
In my opinion, this is the best CD store in São Paulo, both in terms of selection and price. I've always been well-served by everyone there, including the owner, who has a somewhat reserved demeanor but delivers on his promises.
Looking at the reviews here, I can only say that there are several stores in the gallery that offer "paying for friendliness," but if you're looking for hard-to-find CDs at a good price, just stop by!
In July, I contacted the store via WhatsApp asking if they had any Taylor Swift CDs and vinyl records. The conversation was well received and I decided to go in person.
However, when I arrived at the store, the service was completely different. I informed them that I had already spoken via WhatsApp, and the attendant (apparently the store owner) showed me the available CDs. I also asked about the vinyl records, and the response I received was: "The vinyl records are expensive, all over R$500," without even showing me the products.
In the end, I ended up buying two vinyl records at other stores, where not only were the prices more affordable, but the service was much better!
Terrible service! I absolutely do not recommend it. I've never seen a salesperson who doesn't want to sell!
Contrary to what I've been reading, I've always been treated well at this store! This week I went in one day, ordered a rare, hard-to-find CD, and the next day it was in the store, and I was able to buy it! They have rare CDs, and as I read in a comment here, there are CDs you can't find anywhere, and I always find them there! I've been buying from there for well over 10 years! I highly recommend the place!
Terrible service. The long-haired old man is a bitter man who treats customers as if he's doing them a favor by picking up the CDs, and is also rude and inconvenient. Despite the terrible service, the worst I've experienced at Galeria do Rock, they have a good collection, but they lost customers due to his rudeness.
The store's collection is excellent, the best I've found at Galeria do Rock. However, as reported here, on June 29, 2019, I visited the store and the service was truly disappointing. Since I'm not from São Paulo, I was willing to take advantage and make a larger purchase. The salespeople simply seemed annoyed by my usual inquiries about the availability of certain titles, recommending that I return another day and stating that certain works I expressed interest in were almost prohibitively expensive. They lost money, I can assure you. Then, they complain when buyers prefer to purchase products online.
We were very poorly served by a man with long, bearded hair who looked like he was the owner.
My son has been asking me for months to buy a CD at this store. He's autistic and loves music. He has a CD collection.
While looking at the CDs to choose the one he liked best, my husband and daughter stayed inside the store looking at other CDs.
The owner asked the three of them to leave the store because they were disturbing/scaring away customers.
We had terrible service. My son left upset about what happened and still doesn't understand my service.
We left without buying anything to make room for other customers, on the owner's orders.
He had no empathy whatsoever for a regular customer. He would gather every seat to go to the store and buy something he liked.
I won't go there anymore, unfortunately.
I'm shocked by the lack of service and empathy on the part of the store!
Very rude and unprofessional.
I will complain in every possible way. I can't just sit around and... only I know how devastated my son is by everything that happened. I demand that you apologize to my 14-year-old son.
One time I parked on the other side of the square, in a corner parking lot. It was almost dusk. An extremely peculiar figure was walking through the square, heading towards the Gallery. Unafraid of the homeless, without a cell phone in hand, passing through the worst parts of the square, and most importantly, without seeming to care the slightest about anything or anyone around him. Almost in a parallel reality. This person was Márcio, the owner of the Music House, and this scene perfectly describes him and the store.
Want a musical rarity? Want a record you can't find anywhere else? Go to the Music House. Want to chat and talk about soap operas? Want some friendly chat? Want to strengthen ties? Hang out at the Gallery entrance, chatting with the best people.
The Music House has the largest collection BY FAR, with no competition whatsoever, and they know the price. Since 2018, I've only been to the Gallery because of Márcio, and I'll continue to do so as long as it's open. A store for true collectors, not for those who come to the gallery to post on Instagram.
Despite the unfriendly owner, the store is very good. Among the stores there, he has the best prices. For example, I bought the imported Black Sabbath - Eternal Idol CD for R$40.00, and the rest were all in the R$50-55 range. Whatever you're looking for, he has it. I recommend it. Huge variety of imported and domestic CDs and vinyl, both new and used. Located on the first floor, store 269 with no name written on it.
Without a doubt the best place to buy CDs, it has literally everything I need there at the best price, good selections of national bands, post punk and punk!
